The warmUP™ is a non-invasive fluid-based patient warming system that is FDA cleared to rapidly warm and enhance blood flow through the hand. During surgery the warmUP™ is a closed looped system without noisy, hot, forced air to disrupt airflow in the operating room. The warmUP™’s single patient use arm warming sleeve decouples easily from the base unit so that it can move with the patient, providing flexibility to use the same interface from pre-op to recovery.

How It Works

Under general anesthesia a patient’s core body temperature decreases and hypothermia can result. Also, the vasculature in the palms of the hands naturally vasodilate shunting blood flow to the surface of the palm. The warmUP™ applies a mild vacuum which dramatically increases blood flow in the palm. By then perfusing a circulating water heat source, the warrnUP™ safely and non-invasively warms the blood flow in the palm. Today’s existing non-invasive warming technologies must transfer heat into the core body through the thermal barrier of adipose tissue and muscle. With warmUP™, warmed blood flows directly back to the heart from the palm to efficiently maintain core body temperature.
